Gateway to Employment
About the Program
Gateway to Employment is a new program being launched by the College of Business & Economics at Cal State LA that will prepare participants to develop their job portfolios to increase their possibilities of successful placement in the job market. The program is a series of workshops led by faculty, alumni, as well as guest speakers from a wide arena of industry professionals. This program is currently being sponsored by a grant from the Bank of America.
Goal of the Program
The program is intended to teach participants how to prepare their job portfolios and represent themselves to prospective employers. In doing so, it will help pave the way from college to career.

- Participants who have received an invitation to a job interview can request for a mock interview session.
- Participants who have taken more than 90% of the workshops can request for additional one-on-one consultation about the job market if they are actively seeking employment.
Get an E-Certificate
If you attend 75% or more of these workshops, you will receive an e-certificate from the College of Business and Economics which you can add to your resume. You can do this over two consecutive semesters.

These workshops are beneficial to any student planning to enter the job market upon graduation. Juniors and Seniors would find them particularly helpful.
